Fix What Winter Broke, Enjoy What Summer Brings
After a few wet months, the small things start to show. The door that's been sticking since June. The deck that's overdue for a clean and a fresh coat. The gutters nobody's looked at since autumn.
None of these are big jobs on their own, but left alone they tend to become bigger ones. If you sort them soon, your place will be exactly where you want it be come summer.
What we're seeing this spring
Tim is Glenco's Building Operations Manager, and he sees the same pattern every year.
"Every spring it's the same, doors that warped over winter, floors that shifted, gutters that haven't been touched in months. We see it across strata, real estate and private clients every single day.
But it's not just about fixing what broke. Spring's also the time people want their place looking good again, a freshened-up deck, a lick of paint, somewhere you actually want to spend time as the weather turns to spend and entertain family and friends outside.”
Here's where winter usually leaves its mark, and what to keep an eye on.
Doors and windows
Cold, damp weather warps frames, wears out seals and loosens hardware. If a door is dragging or a window won't close properly, get it looked at before the heat arrives and things shift again.
We handle door replacements and installations, locks, handles and hinges, sliding door repairs, door and window frame repairs, glass replacements, fly screens and weather seals.
Floors
Wet winters are hard on timber. Squeaky boards, lifting skirting and worn door trims are the kind of jobs that get worse the longer they sit.
Our team can repairs and replace timber floors, fixes squeaky boards, repairs skirting and subfloors, installs thresholds and transition strips, and sands and polishes floorboards.
Outside
Fences, gates, decks and cladding all cop it through winter, and they're also the spaces you'll want to enjoy most once the weather warms up.
We repair and replace timber decks, fences, gates, cladding, handrails and balustrades and look after pergolas, carports and timber screen installations.

The small stuff
Every property has a list. If it's been sitting there since winter, now's the time. We look after letterboxes, furniture assembly, garden beds, pet doors, clotheslines, shelving and storage, childproofing and safety installs and plenty more.
Inside the home
Water finds its way into walls. Paint bubbles, plaster cracks and grout goes black. A bit of patching and painting now stops a small problem turning into a costly one.
We take care of plastering, painting, mould prevention in bathrooms, architraves, staircase repairs (handrails and treads), cupboard and cabinet repairs, wardrobes, shelving, timber wall panelling, TV and picture mounting.
Roof and gutters
Gutters block up over winter, and a leak that seemed minor can cause real damage by summer, especially once the storms roll in.
Our roof works cover gutter cleans, water leak investigations, fascia and eave lining repairs, structural timber roof repairs, and skylight installations, replacements and remedial works.
